Colman Dock Redevelopment Project

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) and Washington State Ferries (WSF) are proposing to upgrade Colman Dock. Colman Dock is located on Alaskan Way in downtown Seattle. The dock provides ferry services for the WSF fleet serving Seattle, Bremerton, and Bainbridge Island. The facility also provides passenger ferry services for King County’s ferry routes to Vashon and West Seattle.

The SEA Gateway Project will reconfigure the 40-year-old terminal north end ticketing area, expand the security checkpoint and create an updated, light-filled, open space facilitating new technology and building standards to help passengers move quickly and easily through the terminal. The project is being undertaken by the Port of Seattle in partnership with Alaska Airlines to bring a modern, fresh look to the front door of the airport and optimize the experience for travelers from check-in to ticketing, security screening to baggage claim.

WT is actively providing cost estimating support services on projects under the direction of Capital Development at the Port of Seattle. Based on-site at the SeaTac International Airport, WT continues to provide a full suite of project cost, controls and procurement management on the airport's airside, landside, terminal and utility development program. This includes a comprehensive review of all airport mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems under the Utility Master Plan.

The Central Puget Sound region is expected to grow by another one million people by 2035. The Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) is the blueprint for changes at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport to meet future demand. In addition to considering forecasted passenger and cargo demand, the master plan takes stock of current facilities, infrastructure, and operations—looking at scenarios five, 10 and 20 years in the future. It includes air quality, energy and water conservation, recycling and other strategic environmental goals, and will align with the Port’s sustainability and energy efficiency goals.

Port of Seattle – Westside Maintenance Campus

Relocation of the Port’s Aviation Maintenance Facility (AMF) from its current location in the North Cargo area is required to clear the site for construction of the A08 Hardstand (north) project. The AMF will be located on the west side of the airport in the West-side Maintenance Campus and situated on a set of tiered platforms moving down the hill side.
